Motherhood Program
Motherhood won’t make her less. It will make her exceptional.
Meet our Client Services Director, Yvette
Hi, I am Yvette Rash and I wanted to share a little bit about why I am called to this generation of women at Ottawa County Pregnancy Services, as the Client Service Director.
When I was a teenager, I needed help from a center like ours, and they were nowhere to be found. I was sexually assaulted and it resulted in a pregnancy. I was alone with no one to turn to and forced to make a choice that altered my life drastically. I went through years of mental and emotional trauma, all leading me back to that very day. I vowed that day that I never wanted someone to be in a situation that involves pregnancy or parenting to feel as if they are alone, don’t have a choice, and have no one to turn to!
My goal is to help the men and women in Ottawa County to become the parents they were created to be, with the support that they deserve.
Why Mothers Matter
Mothers play a pivotal role in their children’s cognitive, emotional, social, and overall development.
- Maternal responsiveness predicts stronger cognitive, language, motor, and socio-emotional development.
- Sustained high maternal responsivity (e.g., over first 5 years) leads to greater gains in language, cognitive, social, and emotional competence compared to inconsistent or early only responsiveness.
- Positive maternal parenting practices enhance early progress in communication, problem-solving, and self-regulation from 6-12 months onward
These findings underscore the irreplaceable value of a mother in her child’s cognitive, emotional, and physical development.

Why Accurate Information Matters
A secure Mother-Infant attachment increases resiliency, creates an environment with less depression and anxiety,
One of our goal’s is that no one feels pressured or coerced into making a life altering decision, but rather, they understand there is help!
The Lozier Institute recently conducted a survey showing that 70% of women felt pressured and coerced into make an abortion decision.
Did you know, that 67% of women wished they had known about another option, as compared to the 33% that unwaveringly wanted the abortion? Or that 67% attributed more negative emotions and mental health outcomes to their abortions?
Sixty percent reported they would have preferred to give birth if they had received more support from others or had more financial security.
Women who feel abortion is their only choice, and pressured into that decision, are 34% more likely to suffer with an anxiety disorder, as compared to the 11% who carry a child to term, 37% more likely to develop depression, compared to the 12.5% who carry a child to term and are 110% more likely to rely on alcohol use and abuse, compared to the 8% who carry a child to term.
